Happy/Not Happy with GlobalTestMarket...

Things were going real well today with GlobalTestMarket. Unusually well. I seemed to be on a roll. Qualified for two surveys in a row (worth 30 points each - $1.50 each).

Got notified of yet another survey in my inbox. 30 market points for 10mins. Cool. I'll do it. So I clicked and started on it.

I was almost at the end of that particular survey and then I get a message that, sorry, I didn't qualify for it and that I'd get a free entry into a frikkin sweepstake. GRRRR.

Dear GlobalTestMarket. Let's do the math.

Expected survey length = 10 minutes.

Length of time member does survey before being booted off = 7 mins.

Make sense = Erm. No.

Slightly frustrating = Yes.

Good thing I got the two previous surveys out of the way and got the points for it. So at 120 market points, I have 880 more points before reaching the $50 payout. Oh the joy (note: sarcasm).

Don't mind me. I guess I'll be singing a different tune when I get the cheque. For my last two $50 GTM payouts, it took me an average of 8 months each time. Some people reach payout a lot quicker on there - it's all down to your profile. But now points per survey have been reduced and it's harder to qualify for them, I anticipate it'll take longer.

I'm somewhat of the prodigal daughter when it comes to GlobalTestMarket as I didn't use it for a while last year. Now I'm back, I'm not sure I'm ready to stick around long enough to reach another payout.

I'll give it til this time next month and reassess.

I looked into paid survey taking some time ago but in the end concluded that the time invested is not well compensated. I think blogging and web article writing are more lucrative in the long run, but a little extra money from them is fun if you have writing block and are taking a break.

Hi Maria,

I agree. Those two are definitely more lucrative. No buts about that. For me, it's a curiosity, an interest (albeit on & off at times) and a way to make a bit of pocket change.

Have a great month and thanks for passing by and leaving a comment.
